Each of these started life as a section of the engineering log and has been rewritten for a reader rather than a maintainer. The implementation detail is gone; the measurements, the trade-offs and the opinions are not. If you have ever wondered why a field stops where it does, why a number under the cursor is a third of a degree off the city label beside it, or why the GFS here looks sharper than the GFS elsewhere, the answer is in one of them.
